Rounding out another strong year of recognition in the legal directories, our International Arbitration team has again earned multiple rankings in the latest edition of Global Arbitration Review’s sister publication, Who’s Who Legal.

The department expanded in 2022 with the arrival of partner Alejandro Garcia, joining existing partners Philippa Charles, Ian Gatt QC and Daniel Wilmot.

Who’s Who Arbitration 2023

Philippa Charles and Alejandro Garcia are both listed as ‘Recommended’ Global Leaders by the latest Who’s Who guide, while Daniel Wilmot is listed as a Future Leader. Philippa was also included as a Thought Leader for arbitration in the most recent edition of that list.

Who’s Who Legal said of their research process: “Harnessing tens of thousands of data points augmented by hundreds of in-person interviews, this is our most extensive analysis of the international arbitration market yet.”

Recent recognition by The Legal 500 and Chambers

Philippa Charles and Ilyas Bulut were included in The Legal 500’s Private Practice Powerlist for arbitration practitioners in the UK in 2022. The guide says: “What makes the candidates featured special, and in our opinion worth highlighting, is the fact that, even after practicing at the very top of international arbitration for many years, they still embrace new global challenges head-on, and show formidable powers of adaptability.” The list is based on feedback from leading arbitrators, arbitral institutions and general counsel active in the market, as well as The Legal 500’s research team.

Alejandro Garcia was ranked as a ‘Next Generation Partner’ in the latest edition of The Legal 500 Latin America. The guide notes that “Alejandro has over 18 years of dispute resolution experience. His practice focuses on international commercial arbitration and investment treaty arbitration. He has practised law in England for 14 years at leading law firms.”
