We are pleased to announce that five lawyers have been promoted to our partnership in 2025, including two former paralegals of the firm.

The new partners are:

Kimberley Owen in our Personal Injury team is promoted to Legal Director.

We also have senior promotions across business services including two C-Suite executives, James Mead (Chief Information Officer) and Clare McCabe (Chief People Officer) and Business Services Directors, Amber Allan (L&D Director), Virginia Jones (Knowledge Director), Kate Davies (Director of Regulatory Compliance & DPO) and Milda Viela (BD Director).

 

Our new partners

Anastasia Nourescu is a solicitor-advocate whose practice focuses on helping clients to navigate complex tax audits, negotiating tax dispute settlements and conducting litigation against HMRC decisions and assessments. Anastasia has experience advising a variety of clients, from high-net-worth individuals to multi-national corporations.

Joe Mitchell specialises in high-value and complex disputes often involving international elements. He has been listed in Legal 500 for his work. He has experience in disputes involving complex financial products, fraud issues and multi-party claims including large Z.90/90A FSMA group actions. Joe joined Stewarts as a paralegal and trained at the firm, qualifying in 2012.

Ed Holmes specialises in commercial litigation, civil fraud, asset recovery and crypto disputes. Ed’s clients include foreign states, pension and sovereign wealth funds, financial institutions, corporates and high-net-worth individuals. He is a member of the Crypto Fraud and Asset Recovery network.

Nadia Krueger-Young acts in complex, high-value medical negligence cases, mainly involving spinal cord injury and brain injury. She acts for claimants against private doctors, hospitals and the NHS. Nadia is recognised in the Legal 500. She started her career as a paralegal at Stewarts, before qualifying as a solicitor with the firm in 2012.

Andrew Benzeval specialises in personal injury and medical negligence cases involving catastrophically injured clients. He also often acts in sports injury cases. He has acted in claims resulting from fatal accidents, claims involving psychiatric injury and applications to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA), and the interplay between those various actions.

 

Our new legal director

Kimberley Owen is a claimant catastrophic and serious injuries solicitor with over 20 years post-qualification experience solely advising injured individuals. She has a particular interest and expertise in injuries to the brain and spine and limb amputations.

 

Our senior management promotions

James Mead is responsible for influencing, developing and implementing the firm’s IT strategies, including applications, infrastructure and communications architecture, service delivery and information security.

Clare McCabe is an HR professional with over 16 years’ experience, leading teams to support businesses in delivering the strategy across a range of sectors including project management consultancies, recruitment and legal.

Amber Allan is a training professional with in-depth knowledge of all aspects of learning and development. She has over 30 years of experience working in people development in global organisations and ran her own training consultancy for thirteen years prior to joining Stewarts.

Virginia Jones is a commercial litigator with over ten years’ experience in private practice and a further ten with a market leading online knowledge provider. She facilitates organisation-wide knowledge and information sharing.

Kate Davies is a regulatory, commercial and data practitioner who has worked both in-house and in private practice over the last 20 years across the professional services, professional regulation and tech sectors.

Milda Viela is responsible for the development and execution of the business development strategy across the firm, as well as providing strategic support in driving forward the firm’s growth strategy.
