We conduct workplace investigations involving complex, sensitive and highly confidential matters.

These may relate to performance and behaviour concerns, allegations of discrimination, bullying and harassment, and regulatory issues.

An independent investigation by an impartial third party can be beneficial where a matter is not capable of resolution through the employer’s normal procedures or there has been a breakdown in the relationship between the parties. We also act on cases where a company’s normal solicitors are prevented from advising by a conflict of interest.

We are experts on the relevant legal landscape and the sensitivities that may be involved on both sides. We can also consider wider legal issues that may be relevant, such as data protection and legal privilege. We structure multi-disciplinary Investigations teams, comprising lawyers from one or more specialist areas, to tackle all relevant angles in what is often a complex set of circumstances.

As part of any investigation, we would normally review relevant policies and documentation, conduct interviews with witnesses and prepare an objective report containing recommendations and guidance for decision makers or, where requested, on action to be taken.
