Our Divorce and Family team has been recognised as Family Law Team of the Year at the latest Chambers High Net Worth Awards, hosted at the Science Museum in London.
The 2022 edition of the Chambers High Net Worth guide quotes sources saying the team is “second to none for family law”. Others describe Stewarts as “without a doubt the number one divorce firm in the country by a country mile. They are incredibly user-friendly, knowledgeable and experienced.”

Our team retained its market-leading Band 1 status in the 2022 edition of the Chambers High Net Worth Guide and now has 13 individuals ranked, more than any other firm.
Head of Department Stephen Foster is ranked in Band 1 and described by Chambers’ interviewees as “one of the best family lawyers in London. He’s so intelligent, great with clients and has fantastic judgement.”
Star Individual Emma Hatley is acknowledged as “one of the brightest legal technicians that I’ve ever dealt with” by an interviewee. Recognised as a Senior Statesperson, Helen Ward is “an absolute titan of the family law world.”
Also ranked in Band 1, Debbie Chism “enjoys a fantastic reputation for her expertise in complex family matters” and Richard Hogwood is described as “totally, totally efficient and effective in everything that he does.”
Matthew Humphries is in Band 2 and summarised as “the full package: he is hugely knowledgeable, has fantastic judgement and great client skills.” In Band 3, Toby Atkinson “combines all the qualities that you want; he’s practical, empathetic and extraordinarily knowledgeable,” and Sam Longworth “is very client-focused, very knowledgeable and great to deal with.”
Partner Carly Kinch is in Band 4, while Sophie Chapman and Lucy Stewart-Gould are ranked as Up and Coming Partners. Included as Associates to Watch, Senior Associates Jenny Duggan and Sarah Havers also debuted in the 2022 guide.
